BC, Vilnius, 10.07.2018.Print version
Chinese and Lithuanian business communities are expected to step up cooperation in trade, investment, services and industry after Enterprise Lithuania, the government's export promotion agency, and Bank of China Limited last week signed a memorandum of cooperation, reported LETA/BNS.

"The agreement will serve to discover mutually beneficial business opportunities in trade, investment and tourism," Lin Chen, counselor for economic and commercial affairs at China's embassy in Vilnius, was quoted as saying in a press release.

"I am confident that we will see more and more Lithuanian products in Chinese stores and more and more Chinese companies and tourists in Lithuania," he said.

Bank of China Limited is one of China's largest commercial banks and it also operates in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Lithuania's exports to China last year totaled 180 mln euros, including 131 mln euros' worth of Lithuanian-origin goods (up by 40 percent compared with 2016).

The main export commodities were furniture, wood and wood products, optical and measuring devices, surgical instruments, and machinery and mechanical appliances.
