Tallinn Airport serves 275,000 passengers in May

In May 2018, 275,000 passengers passed through Tallinn Airport, 16% more than in the same month the year before, and the total of number of passengers who have passed through the airport since the start of the year is more than 1 million, which is 15% more than in the same period in 2017, reports LETA/BNS.

"Our summer season has had a great start and a lot of the growth has come from additional holiday passengers. In addition to summer destinations which were open already in April, four well-known routes were opened in May -- to Athens, Hamburg, Odessa and Thessaloniki -- as well as a new summer route to Korfu, which is operated by Ellinair. In addition, Nordica opened a new route to Ohird, Macedonia on June 1," commercial director at the Tallinn Airport Eero Pargmae said in a press release.


In May the number of regular passengers grew 16%, which was supported by an increase in seats on offer by 12%. On average the flights were filled up to 71%. The average number of passengers served per day was 8,885 and the average number of flight operations was 150.


Nordica served 23% and Airbaltic 15% of passengers in May. A total of 12 different airlines operated regular routes out of Tallinn during the month.
