Latraps to invest EUR 5.4 mln in grain pre-treatment complex in eastern Latvia

Agricultural services cooperative Latraps plans to invest EUR 5.445 million in a grain pre-treatment complex in Daugavpils, eastern Latvia, writes LETA, according to the website of the Procurement Monitoring Bureau.

EUR 5.445 million is the price offered by Mitavas Celtnieks, the winning bidder in the tender held by Latraps for the first phase in the construction of the grain pre-treatment complex.


The facility is to be built by August 15 this year with support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.


As reported, this year Latraps plans to invest around EUR 7 million in construction of grain pre-treatment facilities in Daugavpils and Saldus, western Latvia. The construction is to be done in several stages with the intention to complete the first phase before the beginning of the grain harvest season this year.


In the last financial year from July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017, Latraps reported a turnover of EUR 185.504 million or by 18.9% less year-on-year and its profit dropped 1.8% to EUR 1.399 million.
