The construction of a new stadium with a refrigerated speed skating rink is one of the key investments for the Lasnamae borough of Tallinn in 2018, writes LETA, according to a plan of investments presented at a meeting of the council of the borough last week.

The elder of the Lasnamae borough, Maria Jufereva, said that demand for sporting and leisure grounds has grown in Lasnamae in recent years and the construction of new sporting grounds is a priority for 2018.

This fall, a new stadium complete with a football pitch, three street basketball courts, a long jump and sprint run section, as well as a refrigerated speed skating rink will be completed at the address 14 Harma Street.

In April work started on another sporting facility in Tondiloo Park in the same district of the capital city that will include a skateboarding rink, a parkour park and facilities for street workout, in addition to a refurbished basketball court.

The investment plan also includes the reconstruction of several streets in Lasnamae, the most populous district of Tallinn.
