Plesnieks wins silver at World Weightlifting Championships

Print versionLatvia's top weighlifter Arturs Plesnieks on Monday won silver at the World Weightlifting Championships in California, reports LETA.

In the men's 105 kg weight class, Plesnieks finished the competition with a
total of 402 kg.
The winner was Iran's Ali Hashemi with 404 kg, while Uzbekistan's Ivan
Efremov finished with the bronze with 399 kg.
As reported, Latvia's Rebeka Koha won bronze at the World Championships
last week, becoming the first female weightlifter from Latvia to win a medal at
the World Championships.
