BC, Tallinn, 30.11.2017.Print version
Clients of select Swedish and Finnish banks have been able to pay for their purchases using Apple Pay contactless payment on three ships of the listed Estonian shipper Tallink since the middle of November 2017, informs LETA/BNS.

Apple Pay contactless payments are offered in collaboration with the provider of payment services Nets, and the payments are currently available to the Swedish and Finnish customers of Nordea, Jyske and St1 banks on the Tallink ships Megastar, Star and Silja Europa plying the Helsinki-Tallinn route.

"Considering how new Apple Pay as a means of payment is in our region, I am very glad that we can offer this solution to our customers, albeit to a limited number of customers at this point," Tallink Grupp sales and marketing director Margus Hunt said in a press release.

He added that Tallink wishes to start offering this possibility also to customers of Estonian banks and on other routes as technical possibilities develop.

"The Apple Pay contactless payment solution was introduced in Finland only a couple of weeks ago, and for now the solution can be used by the clients of a few banks only. We on our part will go on doing the development work to be able to offer to Tallink and to our other clients an ever growing number of different payment solutions," Nets sales director Petri Carpen said.
