Levikom in Estonia to switch to new network center, basic network
During this the whole cope IP network of the company will be
switched to new more powerful central processing unit and the nationwide basic
network connecting base stations to a technology ensuring the data transmission
speed of mostly 10 gigabits per second. The company at the same time is to
expand the volume of international connection. The new network center and basic
network ensure a faster data transmission and larger reliability for
customers, Levikom said.
The new network center and basic network are to be launched fully at the
beginning of December. The company has invested over 200,000 euros in this
project.
Peep Poldsamm, deputy chairman of the management board of Levikom, said that in the last six month the customer base of the
company has seen a strong growth trend. "Especially the rapidly increasing
number of customers and the drastically larger amount of data created the need
for the creation of a new network center and a transmission network that
enables a larger transmission capacity. By launching the new network center,
the architecture of Levikom's
nationwide transport network will also be changed and the company will switch
to a technology enabling data transmission speeds of over 10 gigabits per
second, with which most of the base stations of our VirtuaalFiiberTM network
will be linked," Poldsamm said.
Levikom employs approximately 70 people and offers high-speed internet, television, phone, video surveillance and cloud services in uniform service packages both to private and business customers on the basis of the nationwide wireless broadband network VirtuaalFiiberTM. Levikom has experience in IT and telecommunications since 1992.
