Klaipeda port posts 5.5% growth in January-October cargo traffic

The Lithuanian seaport of Klaipeda handled 35.129 million tons of cargo in January through October 2017, a rise of 5.5% from 33.292 million tons a year ago, the port's authority informed LETA/BNS.
In October alone, cargo traffic through the port increased by 10.1%
year-on-year to 3.719 million tons.
Bulk cargo volumes for the ten months rose by 15.3% to 15.621 million tons,
but general cargo volumes fell by 1.5% to 10.234 million tons and liquid cargo
volumes were down by 0.9% to 9.268 million tons.
In October year-on-year, bulk cargo volumes increased by 14.1% to 1.738
million tons and liquid cargo volumes soared by 30.8% to 876,700 tons. General
cargo volumes declined by 6.7% to 1.104 million tons.
