The volume of construction works in Lithuania increased by 2.9% in Q3
In III quarter 2017, against the respective period of the previous year, the volume of construction work carried out, calendar adjusted, increased by 10.8% (unadjusted – by 10%). Against the same period of the previous year, the volume of building construction increased by 4.6%, that of construction of civil engineering structures – by 18.4% (unadjusted – increased by 4.4 and 16.9% respectively).
The share of construction of civil engineering structures accounted for 46.4% of total construction work carried out in the country (EUR 347.9 million), that of construction of non-residential buildings – 37.4% (EUR 279.9 million), that of construction of residential buildings – 16.2% (EUR 121.5 million).
In January–September 2017, the volume of construction work carried out in the country amounted to EUR 1 billion 738 million; against January–September 2016, calendar adjusted, it increased by 8.5% (unadjusted – by 8%).

Compared to the previous period, seasonally and calendar adjusted, it decreased by 11.6% (unadjusted – 12.6%), against the respective period of the previous year, calendar adjusted – by 1.4% (unadjusted – 1.7%).
In January–September 2017, the volume of construction work carried out abroad amounted to EUR 177.9 million; against January–September 2016, calendar adjusted and unadjusted, it decreased by 0.4%.
Comparative indicators are calculated at constant prices of 2010 applying a construction input price index.
Concepts
Construction work carried out refers to the value (VAT excluded) of all kinds of work carried out when building a new structure, reconstructing, repairing (restoring) or demolishing a structure for a customer (sale) or for own needs. It excludes the value of land and design work.
