Orkla to invest EUR 1.2 mln in packaging equipment for Adazu Cipsi plant

Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija, the producer of Laima, Selga, Staburadze and Adazu Cipsi brand products, will invest EUR 1.2 million in packaging equipment in order to make Adazu Cipsi potato crisp plant meet the contemporary manufacturer’s principles, said the company’s spokeswoman Lineta Miska, cites LETA.

Commenting on the company’s investment plants, Miksa said that Adazu Cipsi plant has doubled its production capacity since 2012, and therefore one of its biggest plans is to invest EUR 1.2 million in upgrade and automatization of the packaging process.


At the same time, the company will not only invest in innovations of the products and packaging, but also o reduction of the impact of industrial processes on the environment. EUR 300,000 will be spent on improvement of the sewage systems.


Miksa also reminded that the company is also investing EUR 220,000 in measures to improve energy efficiency and environment protection in its Staburadze plant, more than EUR 500,000 in new packaging equipment for Staburadze, EUR 450,000 for new packaging equipment for Laima waffles.


As reported, Latvia’s Laima sweets maker also plans to invest up to EUR 20 million in the coming three years in its new plant in Adazi.
