Balticovo to invest EUR 1 mln in barn egg production

Balticovo spokeswoman Agra Liege told LETA that about a year
the company had announced its long-term plan for investments in both free-range
and barn egg production.
"The main purpose of increasing the production capacity that way is to
improve the company's export potential. Announcing a tender for supply of the
equipment is only one of the steps towards this goal," she said.
Balticovo will implement
the investment project with the help of financing from the European
Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
Balticovo produces not only
eggs but also different egg products.
In 2016, Balticovo generated EUR
44.589 million in turnover, down 2.9% from 2015, and its profit shrank two
times to EUR 2.713 million.
The largest shareholder in Balticovo
is BCO company with 95.42%.
