SBA concern, which operates seven furniture factories in Lithuania, Russia and Belarus, will invest 22 million euros in construction of a logistics center and a factory of furniture components close to Lithuania's port city of Klaipeda, with the construction planned to start next spring, reports LETA/BNS.

Egidijus Valentinavicius, SBA vice-president, says this was an effort to optimize the supply chain and improve the competition of not only SBA but also all furniture companies in the region.

"Centralized logistics will allow more efficient filling trucks or containers with production, with a shipment consisting of products from various factories," Valentinavicius said in a press release.

Construction of the logistics center and the furniture component plant should be completed by the end of 2018. The logistics center will store and distribute production of four of SBA's furniture factories, including Klaipedos Baldai, Germanika, Silutes Baldai and Visagino Linija.

The SBA logistics center will provide services to the concern's factories and other Lithuanian manufacturers.

SBA operates 26 companies, including Klaipedos Baldai, Silutes Baldai, Visagino Linija, Germanika, Kauno Baldai, Utenos Trikotazas, Satrija and Urban Inventors real estate group.
