Cardissa, a small gas carrier of one of the world's largest gas trading companies Shell, arrived in the Lithuanian port city of Klaipeda on October 17h, informs LETA/BNS.

It will be loaded with gas from Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply, LDT), the gas trading arm of the energy holding Lietuvos Energija, however, the destination is yet to be announced.

This will be the second LDT shipment of gas sold to Shell of the Netherlands.

Paulius Jakutavicius, spokesman for LDT, told BNS he could not specify the destination of the ship.

Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil), the operator of Lithuania's liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, announced that Cardissa had arrived on Tuesday morning, being the 40th gas carrier handled at the terminal since it was launched in late 2014.

Cardissa will be filled with about 6,000 cubic meters of gas from the LNG vessel Independence.

In mid-September, Shell sold 1,000 cubic meters of LNG, with part of the shipment then intended for tests of the Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil) LNG distribution station.
