Liepaja port sees cargo turnover rise 22.8% in January-September

During the first nine months of 2017, the stevedore companies based in the southwestern Latvian port of Liepaja reloaded 4.753 million tons of cargo in total, which was a 22.8% rise from the same period a year ago, Liga Ratniece-Kadege, a spokeswoman for the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (SEZ), told LETA.
In the first nine months of this year Liepaja port also served 1,044 ships
and 31,939 passengers.
In January-September the port reloaded 3.47 million tons of bulk cargos,
916,800 tons of general cargos, and 363,400 tons of liquid cargos.
In September, Liepaja port reloaded 583,645 tons of cargo, up 12.7% from
last September.
