Biriu Kroviniu Terminalas (Bulk Cargo Terminal, or BKT), which handles Belaruskali's fertilizer shipments via the port of Klaipeda, has new development plans, the business daily Verslo Zinios reported on September 26th, cites LETA/BNS.

"It's too early to speak because we haven't yet dotted the i's and crossed the t's. When we start actual work, we will then be able to comment in more detail," it quoted Vidmantas Dambrauskas, CEO of BKT, as saying.

According to him, the development will take place on several abandoned plots of land with a total area of 13 hectares, which the company has purchased over the past five years.

Businessman Igor Udovitsky holds a 70% stake in BKT and Belarus' fertilizer manufacturer Belaruskali owns the remaining 30% of shares.

BKT's net profit fell by 12% in 2016 compared with 2015 to 8.355 million euros as sales revenue went down by 2% to 25.178 million euros.
