BC, Tallinn, 20.09.2017.Print version
The Estonian information technology company Nortal has signed a 8.2 million euro contract with Oman to develop a new system for work licensing and permits for the country, the Times of Oman news portal reports, cites LETA/BNS.

Through the new system, people going to work in Oman can apply for or update their working permits through the internet and the whole process for applying for working visas will be transferred to the system to be developed by Nortal.

The project will help simplify the system for the issuance of working permits and will make it more transparent, in addition people will not have to visit different governmental institutions and ministries to apply for working visas.

The moving of working permit application to the internet is to take place in six stages and an official of the country's Ministry of Manpower said that the system should be fully finished in two years.

The transition stages will include gathering data, classifying information, a trial period and the official launch of the new system.
