Lithuanian Railways' revenue grew by 6% in 8 months

Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways) said that its revenue for the eight months through August rose by 6% year-on-year to reach 282.1 million euros, informs LETA/BNS.
The state railway company's net profit for January through August came in
at 1.3 million euros.
Freight volumes increased by 7.54% to 33.7 million tons and passenger
numbers were up by 3% to 2.5 million. Freight transit shipments via Lithuania
increased by 25% and export shipments grew by 21%.
The rise in rail freight transit volumes was due to increased shipments to
Kaliningrad, with coal shipments up by 64.6% and oil and oil product shipments
up by 45.6%.
