"Today a number of countries are actively developing the production of
wind energy. This project allowed us to enter a new British open sea wind
energy market, which at present is the largest and fastest developing market in
the world. Approximately 8 billion euros was invested in it in 2016," Ruslan Diduhh, board member of Marketex Offshore Constructions, said in
a press release.
The anchors will be installed to the 92.4 megawatt Aberdeen Bay wind farm
in Scotland. The international tender for the production and supply of the
anchors was announced in fall 2016 and a contract was signed in December. More
than 3,000 tons of products was produced and sent to the customer during the
project.
The anchor of the wind turbine has a diameter of 9.5 meters and is a
complicated construction of up to 15 meters in height and 140-195 tons in
weight. During the construction of the anchors, high requirements are set on
the quality of welded joints and painted areas.
In addition to Estonia, BLRT Grupp
operates in Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Ukraine, Poland and Russia. The company
employs approximately 4,000 people.
