Riga Airport raises turnover by 3% in H1
During the first half of 2017, the airport’s revenue from aviation services
came to EUR 14.3 million, up 3% year-on-year. Revenue from non-aviation
services also rose 3% against the first half of last year to EUR 10.7 million.
“The airport’s financial results for the first half of this year reflect
the balanced growth strategy, with aviation and non-aviation services each
providing an equal share of the airport’s revenue. I am glad that
notwithstanding the millions Riga Airport has been investing and will keep
investing in the development of infrastructure, the company has closed the
first half of this year in the black,” said Riga Airport CEO Ilona Lice.
During the first half of 2017, Riga Airport received 2.747 million
passengers, or 8.7% more than a year ago.
Riga International Airport is the largest air traffic hub in the Baltic
states. More than 20 airlines operating at Riga Airport offer 60 destinations
in the winter season and nearly 90 in the summer season.
In 2016, Riga Airport handled 5.6 million passengers, or nearly 45% of all
air passengers in the Baltic states.
