airBaltic flies 20% more passengers in January-July

Latvian national carrier airBaltic flew 1,958,774 passengers in the first seven months of 2017, which was a 20% increase against the respective period in 2016, LETA was told at the company.

In July 2017, airBaltic carried 393,312 passengers, up 21% against the same month last year.

 

In the seven months of this year, the airline performed 28,260 flights, or 14% more than in the same period of 2016, with the load factor of the airBaltic flights growing by 1.9%age points year-on-year to 76.2%.

 

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator during the first seven months of 2017 declined by one%age point year-on-year to 87.8%. The indicator shows how many flights of the given carrier depart at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.

 

“This summer has been fulfilling and challenging at the same time. Historically highest passenger numbers and revenue has also meant that our flights are almost full. It creates more pressure on our team to keep operating our flights with the worlds’ best on-time performance and provide expected customer service,” said airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss.

 

airBaltic operates direct flights from Riga to over 60 destinations. In addition, airBaltic also offers direct flights from Tallinn and Vilnius.
