First time registration of cars grew by 11.1% in January-July in Latvia

First time registration of passenger cars rose by 11.1% year-on-year in the first seven months of the year 2017 as 39,722 autos were registered for the first time in Latvia during that period, writes LETA, according to the information from the Latvian Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD).

The transport vehicles registered for the first time in Latvia in the first seven months of this year also include 4,886 trucks, down 1.4% against the same period a year ago, 207 buses, up 39.9%, as well as 1,985 motorcycles and trikes, up 9.8%.

 

The list of vehicles registered for the first time in January-July 2017 also include 1,325 scooters, up 12.7%, 125 quadbikes, down 18.3%, and 3,947 trailers and semitrailers, up 10.5%.

 

In all, 52,197 transport vehicles were registered in the first seven months of 2017, which was a 9.7% increase against the same period in 2016.

 

In 2016, registration of passenger cars dropped 4.9% year-on-year to 60.625 vehicles.

 

CSDD is a state-owned company registering motor vehicles in Latvia, issuing drivers' licenses and conducting road worthiness examinations of vehicles.
