Latvian national airline airBaltic has transported 1,752 passengers on its new Riga-Liepaja route since it was opened two months ago, with load factor at 47.3%, the company's spokeswoman Alise Briede told LETA.
She said that the demand and load factor for the new route is in accordance
with initial forecasts.
In the first two months, over 3,000 tickets have been purchased on the
route, with 52% of tickets between the two cities, and 48% as transit flights
connecting the coastal city via Riga to other airBaltic destinations.
''The route is popular amongst Latvians, as well foreigners. Local Liepaja
residents are also happy that such flights have been launched, and the
connection with Riga is convenience for Kurzeme residents, as well as residents
of northwestern Lithuania,'' Briede said.
airBaltic launched the
domestic route between Riga and Liepaja on May 16 of this year.
