Lithuania's herbal tea maker Svencioniu Vaistazoles starts exports to Saudi Arabia

Lithuania's herbal tea producer Svencioniu Vaistazoles has sent the first containers with tea blends for babies to Saudi Arabia and expects to increase its exports by one-fifth this year, reported LETA/BNS on Thursday according to Verslo Zinios.

"Arabs know what mint and chamomile are, but the properties and benefits of other herbs need to be explained to every customer. Our partners are helping to do so," it quoted Donatas Kiausas, the company's export director, as saying.


In Arab countries, herbs are sold in pharmacies and specialized stores, he noted.


Exports account for around 35% of Svencioniu Vaistazoles' total sales, with some 30% of exports going to Arab countries, 60% to Europe and 10% to North America.


The company, which is based in Svencionys, in eastern Lithuania, projecting an increase of around 20 percent in exports this year.
