BC, Tallinn, 17.05.2017.Print version
The Estonian state-owned logistics company Eesti Post AS operating under the Omniva brand is looking for the builder of a 16 mln euro and 13,000 square meter logistics center in Rae local municipality near Tallinn, reported LETA/BNS.

Member of the management board of Omniva  Ansi Arumeel said that building the new logistics center will be one of the biggest investments Omniva has made recently. "At the end of April we signed the procurement of the logistics center's so called heart, or sorting line, and at the moment the design work of the building is underway. With the plot of land and cost of sorting technology we will invest approximately 16 mln euros into the construction of the new logistics center," Arumeel said.

He said that the company is looking for a trustworthy and experienced partner. "The winner of the procurement must build a logistics center which will be one of a kind in the Baltic countries in terms of content, characteristics and working conditions," Arumeel said.

The task of the winner of the procurement will be to build the Omniva logistics center as well as to connect external networks and roads. Pre-notification of the procurement was made by Omniva last week and the starting date of procurement proceedings is Aug. 1, 2017.

Omniva's new logistics center is to be built in Rae local municipality near Tallinn due to the good logistical location and opportunities for further expansion. Last year, Omniva bought a 70,000 square meter plot of land for the construction of the logistics center. The building will take up 13,000 square meters.

For the most part the logistics center is to be located on one floor, however, a smaller office wing will have two storeys. About 200 people will work at the production wing of the building and 75 people in the office wing. Omniva plans to move in to the new logistics center in fall 2018.
