Hesburger to invest EUR 1.6 mln in restaurant in Riga

Baltic and Finnish fast-food chain Hesburger will invest EUR 1.6 mln in another restaurant in Riga, the company’s development director Ieva Salmela reported LETA.

The new restaurant will be located at 388 Brivibas Street and construction works have already been started.


Salmela said that the new restaurant will be placed on two floors, there will be a recreation area and playground for kids. There will be office space on the third floor of the building.


As reported, sales of the Finnish-owned fast food chain Hesburger in the Baltic states reached EUR 58 mln in 2016. Sales in Latvia grew 10.6% from 2015 to EUR 19.8 mln in 2016, sales in Estonia were up 7% to EUR 20.3 mln but the steepest growth was recorded in Lithuania were sales rose 25.5% y-o-y to EUR 17.9 mln.


Hesburger is the largest Finnish fast food chain running fast food restaurants in Finland, the Baltic states, Germany, Russia and Turkey.


According to Firmas.lv business information website, the Hesburger chain in Latvia is run by 36 companies owned by Rigaburger, which in turn belongs to Finland's Hes-Pro (Finland).
