EUR 1.7 mln invested in opening of Baltic Radiology Academy in Riga

A total of approximately EUR 1.7 mln has been invested in the establishment of the Baltic Radiology Academy, as Medicinas Sabiedriba ARS representatives told LETA.

The Baltic Radiology Academy was opened at 3 Jana Asara Street in Riga yesterday by ARS Diagnostic Clinic in cooperation with Toshiba Medical. The academy will bring the latest diagnostic technologies to Latvia, combining Latvian physicians' expertise with opportunities offered by the most modern diagnostic methodology. The professional education and qualifications project Baltic Radiology Academy is being implemented on the basis of modern and innovative diagnostic technologies, and the total amount of investments in the project is estimated at EUR 1.7 mln, said the company.


The only Toshiba Aquilion One computed tomography scanner in the Baltics also opened at the academy yesterday.


Maris Andersons, CEO at Medicinas Centrs ARS, said he was very pleased at cooperation with Toshiba Medical that enabled Medicinas Centrs ARS to set up the academy for training of radiologists in the Baltic countries.
