Germany's Festo to expand service center in Kaunas

Germany's automated solu tions company Festo is expanding its service center in Lithuania's second-largest city Kaunas, planning to hire another 300 employees within the next three years to double the current employment numbers, informed the foreign investment promotion agency Invest Lithuania.

"Festo's Kaunas office is the largest service center of any production company in Lithuania. New work places will not be the only benefit Kaunas derives from Festo's decision to expand. The continued success of this giant shows the growing potential of the city. This success will both attract the attention of other foreign companies and help to demonstrate the value of Kaunas as an investment location," says Mantas Katinas, director general of the Invest Lithuania.


Giedre Belazariene, Festo's HR manager, says the company would employ finance, IT, document management, marketing and engineering specialists.


Festo launched operations in Lithuania in 1992 and already has staff of 270 specialists.

Festo Group employs 19,000 staff in 176 countries and provides services and support to the company's 300,000 customers worldwide. There are currently 10 production company service centers in Lithuania, including Outokumpu, Ahlstrom-Munksjo and Paroc.
