Most profitable banks last year - Swedbank, Rietumu Banka and ABLV Bank

Print versionSwedbank, Rietumu Banka and ABLV Bank were the most profitable banks operating in Latvia last year, according to the Association of Latvian Commercial Banks' data reports LETA.

Swedbank posted
EUR 92.9 mln in profit in Latvia last year.
Rietumu Banka
posted EUR 86.356 mln in profit, while ABLV Bank poster EUR 79.337 mln in
profit.
The fourth most profitable bank operating in Latvia last
year was SEB Banka - EUR 51.162 mln,
followed by Citadele - EUR 36.278 mln,
DNB Banka - EUR 30.174 mln.
All other banks operating in Latvia posted profits of EUR 11
mln an less.
The Association of Latvian Commercial Banks has not
published information about Nordea Bank.
Overall, the Latvian banking sector operated with EUR
453.754 mln in profit last year, which was 9.1% more when compared to
2015.
