EUR 5 mln invested in renovation of Domina Shopping mall in Riga

BC, Riga, 06.03.2017.Print version
Around EUR 5 mln have been invested in a renovation project aimed at enhancing the efficiency of 12,000 square meters of floor space at Domina Shopping mall in Riga, the mall’s head Dina Bunce told LETA.

The owners of Domina Shopping have spent this amount on overhauling the part of the shopping center that used to house a Prisma store, which closed last spring. The investments are expected to pay off in ten years’ time.

In Bunce’s words, this part of the shopping mall has been substantially transformed so that it could accommodate 25 new stores. A lot of money has also been spent on the mall’s interior. As a result of the renovation, the number of retailers selling household goods at Domina Shopping will substantially increase.

The renovated part in Domina Shopping opened to shoppers on March 2, but the official opening event is scheduled for March 30, said Bunce.

The new brands that opened at Domina Shopping on March 2 include SportsDirect, Siena, Tiger, Lage Gastronomija, SEB Banka, Audums Pluss, Lakstos, Hobby Style, Optika Italiana, as well as Stenders and Top Shop.

Charlott, Baltic Data, Cili Pica, Hemma, Duni, Apotheka, Lattelecom, Euroaptieka and Jysk will also open their stores at the shopping mall’s renovated part during this month.

The last stage of the renovation project will end in the summer with the opening of a Maxima supermarket.
