Latvia’s Cido Grupa beverages producer has expanded beer production with a new brand Staburags, investing EUR 120,000 in it, the company representatives reported.

Staburgags will be made following historic brewing traditions, carefully selecting ingredients. There will be three kinds of Staburags beer.

Uldis Versis, a representative of Lacplesis brewery, said that the new brand will play a symbolic role in the company’s product portfolio. „This brand will restore the story about the beginnings of the beer, traditions and values of the local crafstmen that our brewers have passed over from generation to generation,” said Versis.

Staburags beer will be made in Liepaja, Lacplesis brewery, where more than EUR 3 mln have been invested since 2008.

According to Cido Grupa, the company’s market share is about 22 %, mostly thanks to Lacplesis beer (10.4%), and Livu beer (11.6%).

Cido Grupa, founded in 1994, is the leading beverage maker in the Baltic states and has a share capital of EUR 1.117 mln. Its largest shareholder is Denmark's Royal Unibrew, holding 99.99% of shares.

The company produces juice, nectars, juice drinks, as well as natural mineral water, drinking water and beer.
