Nortal and Estonian FinMin sign cooperation accord to underpin Nortal's Gulf business plan

BC, Tallinn, 22.11.2016.Print version
The Estonian Finance Ministry and the software company AS Nortal have signed a cooperation agreement based on which Estonia's practices of tax collection and administration of public finances will be showcased in the Gulf states, reports LETA/BNS.

While neither side assumes any obligations under the document, it offers employees of the ministry and its area of government the possibility to participate in international cooperation, it appears from the agreement.

The ministry and the institutions in its area of government will enable their staff to engage in secondary activities aimed at fulfilling the goals of the cooperation agreement. They will be barred from the secondary activities if these start getting in the way of the performance of their regular work duties.

Nortal will take into due consideration that in signing the agreement the ministry is not giving preference to Nortal over other businesses and it will treat equally all businesses that wish to engage in similar cooperation.

The cooperation agreement has been signed for an unspecified period of time and the ministry will not share any business or other risks with Nortal.

The memorandums of cooperation in ICT already signed between Estonia and the Gulf states serve as basis to the agreement. In addition, Nortal will be providing VAT collection solutions to the Gulf states from 2017-2022.
