Latvian banking sector makes EUR 373.9 mln profit

The Latvian banking sector earned EUR 373.972 mln in aggregate profit in the first nine months of this year, which was an 18.9 % increase against the same period a year ago, according to the data of the Financial and Capital Markets Commission (FCMC) informs LETA.
In September 2016, the Latvian banking sector made a profit
of EUR 32.167 mln.
At the end of September this year, banking assets totaled
EUR 29.552 bln, down 7.5 % from the end of 2015 and also by 0.9 % less compared
to late August this year.
Aggregate bank deposits stood at EUR 21.353 bln at the end
of September this year, which was 8.2 % less than at the end of 2015 and also
1.1 % less than at the end of August this year.
The banking sector's loan portfolio totaled EUR 15.11 bln at
the end of September 2016, growing 3 % from late 2015 but declining 0.04 %
compared to the end of August 2016.
The Latvian banking sector reported EUR 314.551 mln in
aggregate profit for the first nine months of 2015.
