Eesti Gaas sells a fifth more natgas than last year in 9 months

Print versionEstonian natural gas seller Eesti Gaas sold 328 mln cubic meters of gas in nine months of 2016, an increase of 18 % compared to 277 mln cubic meters a year ago, informs LETA/BNS.

The reason for Eesti
Gaas' strong sales is the favorable price of natural gas, CEO Ants Noot said. "We have
diversified our sources of supply and are able to import natural gas on
competitive terms," he said in a press release.
Sales in September totaled 18.1 mln cubic meters, 0.2 mln
cubic meters more than in the same month last year.
According to the company, use of compressed gas in
transportation has increased. In nine months it sold 3.3 mln cubic meters of
compressed gas, 37.5% more than during the same period of 2016.
The natural gas excise duty is slated to rise 20% from the
beginning of next year.
