In the first seven months of this year, Latvian wholegrain breakfast cereals producer Milzu! increased its exports four times compared to the same period in 2015, informs LETA.

The company's owner, Enno Ence, said the export growth was largely due to the organic cereals production line launched in late 2015. Exports made up 25 % of total turnover in January-July 2016, and total turnover increased by 40% compared to the seven-month period last year.

"Exploring new export markets and strengthening positions on the existing export markets has been a priority for the Milzu! team this year. In the first seven months of 2016, we not only increased total turnover but also achieved a fourfold growth of exports year-on-year," Ence said.

At present Milzu! sells its breakfast cereals in Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, the United Kingdom and Israel.

The company is currently participating in SIAL Paris international food fair, presenting its products at the Latvian stand of organic products in order to achieve further growth of export.

Milzu!, founded in 2005 and fully owned by Ence, makes wholegrain breakfast cereals from ingredients grown in the Baltic region. In 2015 the company raised its turnover 2.1 times year-on-year to EUR 525,684 and made a profit of EUR 1,131 as opposed to a loss of EUR 60,220 in 2014.
