Sales of Latvia's Olainfarm drugmaker up 2% in Septembe

Preliminary consolidated results of Latvia's Olainfarm pharmaceutical company for September 2016 show that sales of the company were EUR 8.21 mln, which represents a 2% increase compared to the same period of 2015, according to the information submitted to the Nasdaq Riga stock exchange.

The biggest sales increase was achieved in Kazakhstan where sales grew by 281%. Sales to Tajikistan grew by 188% while sales to Spain grew by 102%. During September 2016, significant shipments have also been made to the UK and Denmark. The major sales markets during this period were Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands and Belarus.


Sales of pharmacy chain of Latvijas Aptieka in September this year were EUR 1.6 mln, which represents an increase by 12 % compared to September 2015. 62 pharmacies were operating during September 2016. Sales of Silvanols during September 2016 were EUR 0.63 mln, which represents an increase by 17 % year-on-year. Silvanols sold its products in four European countries and, with the help of Olainfarm, also to Russia, Lithuania and Kazakhstan. Sales of Tonus Elast during September 2016 were EUR 0.54 mln. The company sold its products to 16 countries in 3 continents.


According to preliminary consolidated numbers, the amount of sales of Olainfarm in nine months of 2016 was EUR 78.51 mln, which represents an increase by 8% compared to nine months of 2015. The biggest sales increase was achieved in Uzbekistan, where sales grew by 72%. Sales to Turkmenistan and Ukraine grew by 38% each while sales to the UK increased by 24%. The major sales markets during this period were Russia, Latvia, Ukraine and Belarus.


Sales of pharmacy chain of Latvijas Aptieka in nine months of 2016 reached EUR 13.9 mln, which is an increase by 14 % compared to nine months of 2015. Sales of Silvanols in nine months of 2016 were EUR 3.68 mln, which represents an increase by 27% y-o-y. Products of Silvanols during this period were sold to eleven European countries and, with the help of Olainfarm, also to Albania, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia. Sales of Tonus Elast in 9 months amounted to EUR 2.66 mln. Its products were sold to 30 countries in four continents.


According to preliminary unconsolidated data, sales of Olainfarm during September 2016 were EUR 6.47 mln, which represents a reduction by 6% compared to sales in September 2015. The biggest sales increase was achieved in Kazakhstan where sales grew by 227%, while sales to Tajikistan grew by 188% and sales to Spain increased by 102%. Significant shipments during this period were also made to the UK and Denmark. The major sales markets of Olainfarm during September 2016 were Russia, Latvia, Ukraine, the Netherlands and Belarus. During September 2016, products of Olainfarm were sold to 26 countries in two continents.


According to unconsolidated preliminary numbers, sales of Olainfarm in nine months of 2016 were EUR 66.07 mln, which represents an increase by 3% compared to the same period in 2015. The biggest sales increase during this period was achieved in Uzbekistan, where sales grew by 72 %. Sales to Turkmenistan grew by 38 %, and sales to Ukraine grew by 37 %. The major sales markets of Olainfarm during this period were Russia, Ukraine, Latvia and Belarus. In total, during this nine-month period products of Olainfarm were sold to 39 countries in four continents.


The annual general meeting of Olainfarm held on June 7 this year approved operating plan of the Company and the Group, providing that the Company's sales in 2016 will reach EUR 86 mln, while the Group's sales will reach EUR 100 mln. According to these preliminary sales numbers, in nine months of 2016, 77 % of the planned annual Company's sales and 79 % of the planned annual Group's sales have been attained.


Olainfarm group posted EUR 15.3 mln in net profit for 2015 which is a 25 % growth y-o-y and by 8% more compared to the net profit of 2012, when the previous profit record of EUR 14.2 mln was set.


Olainfarm makes medicines, food supplements, active pharmaceutical ingredients and chemical substances. Olainfarm shares are quoted on the Main List of the Nasdaq Riga stock exchange. The company's key owner is its board chairman Valerijs Maligins.
