The revenue of PKC Eesti, Estonian arm of the listed Finnish manufacturer of cable harnesses for the automotive industry, which in February 2016 announced it would lay off 613 employees in 2017, in 2015 increased 5% to 145.7 million euros and its net profit soared 51% to 17.9 million euros, informs LETA/BNS.

According to the company's board, last year was successful for the company and brought along positive developments. At the same time the year was very intense as the projects for relocating labor-consuming production to PKC plants situated in Lithuania and Russia were continued with and in the summer of 2015 the closing of the Haapsalu plant was finished. The activities had a positive effect on the company's economic results, the board said in the company's annual report.

No major changes took place in the structure of the company's sales revenue and the company still exported nearly 100% of its produce, mainly to European Union member states.

The company's average workforce was 766 people last year and wage costs totaled 13.4 million euros, while in 2014 the company's workforce was 1,062 people.

PKC Eesti does not expect its revenue to grow in 2016 since Europe's low economic growth also has an impact on the market of commercial vehicles.
