Profit of Estonian ICT sector grows to EUR 37.4 mln in Q1

Print versionThe overall profit of the Estonian information and communication technology (ICT) sector in the first quarter of 2016 was 37.4 million euros, figures available from Statistics Estonia show, cites LETA/BNS.

The sector recorded a loss of 5.5 million euros in the same period of the previous year and made a profit of 52.6 million euros in the final quarter of 2015.
Sales by companies of the ICT sector totaled 821.4 million euros, 11.8% less than in the first quarter of 2015 and 3% less than in the fourth quarter of last year.
The sector's enterprises employed on average 21,537 people during the period, 485 more than the year before and 1,297 more than in the previous quarter.
Wage costs of the sector were 17% higher than a year earlier and 3.8% higher than in the previous quarter.
