Estonian beverage maker Koch to invest EUR 600,000 in development

BC, Tallinn, 13.06.2016.Print version
The Estonian maker of alcoholic beverages Koch OU is set to invest 600,000 euros in product development, production equipment and packaging in 2016 and has set its sights on a market share of 30% among Estonian producers of strong alcohol, informs LETA/BNS.

"To remain competitive, what we need is not only stable high quality but also acive product development to come up with new tastes and new packaging," Ivar Grossev, member of the management board of Koch, told BNS on Monday. He said that since Koch products were competing not only with the output of other Estonian producers but also with large international brands, large scale investments in product development are inevitable.

"In the production of vodkas, gins and liqueurs alike we have significantly increased the use of natural ingredients and put also 100% organic products on the market," Grossev said.

In addition to product development in the strong alcohol segment, Koch is about to make investments in expanding technical possibilities for the production of craft beers.

At present, Koch produces 97 different beverages and about 30 new products are to be introduced this year. Its main production facility is situated at Napi near the northeastern regional capital Rakvere.

The company had sales of 16.5 million euros last year and its sales this year are estimated to hit 23 million euros.
