LDz Apsardze in Petersburg signs international agreement about guarding freight trains

LDz Apsardze (LDz Security), a subsidiary of the Latvian state-owned railway company Latvijas Dzelzcels (LDz), at the meeting of railway security companies from Russia, Kazakhstan and Latvia in St.Petersburg signed an agreement about closer cooperation in guarding of freight trains to increase security of cargos, the company reported LETA.

In view of the plans by LDz and railway companies of several other countries to develop transportation of containers and contrailers, they will need to ensure security of those cargoes. LDz also plans to develop security infrastructure and security services in order to offer not only speedy and good-quality but also safe transport services.

 

Arnis Maculevics, the board chairman of LDz Apsardze, said such cargoes were more expensive and held bigger profit for the carrier but also required better security. The new cooperation agreement will enable the company to offer its customers services of a higher quality in the future, he said.

 

Founded in 2003, LDz Apsardze posted a profit of EUR 101,216 on a turnover of EUR 7.29 million in 2014, according to Firmas.lv.
