The market of private persons' postal packages grew 37% in 2015 in Estonia, results of a study carried out by pollster TNS Emor show, cites LETA/BNS.

While last year every Estonian received nine packages in the post on average, this year the number was already 12.

"There seems to be no limit to the private persons' postal package market," chief of sales at logistics company Itella Smartpost Alice Rahkema said, adding that consumers will win from this since companies make efforts to reduce delivery time and offer free transport.

2014 was the first year that parcel terminals became more popular than receiving parcels in post or from a courier. "Already nearly 40% of parcels are received from parcel terminals, one fourth from post offices and every fifth parcel is delivered by a courier," Rahkema added.
