The Estonian investment company Brave Capital will by the year 2020 at the latest build 40,000 square meters of commercial and office space in the Ravala quarter in central Tallinn, informs LETA/BNS.

The development is planned to begin this year with preparatory works in the Ravala quarter. To be erected between Ravala puiestee and Estonia puiestee is the Ravala Gallery connecting the two streets, with an overall area of 70,000 square meters including about 30,000 square meters of retail and service space and 10,000 square meters of office space, Brave Capital said.

Involved in the construction of the Ravala Gallery will be a commercial building at 8 Ravala puiestee, the Melon shopping mall and two more properties, Brave Capital board member Veljo Kuusk told BNS. A residential building located between them will not be affected by the works, he added. For implementing the project, four properties are needed and agreements for using all of them are in place, he said.

According to Kuusk activities to prepare the construction could begin within a year and the construction is scheduled for completion in 2020. However, Brave Capital hopes to finish the project two years sooner, but for this many things would have to go smoothly, he said.

The architectural design competition for the Ravala Gallery, held in 2012, was won by Koko architects. Construction designs are not yet ready as the process of public disclosure of the detailed plan hasn't been completed, Kuusk said.
