Media advertising market in Latvia reaches EUR 77.2 mln in 2015

Latvia’s media advertising market in 2015 rose by 2% to EUR 77.2 million, the Latvian Advertising Association reported LETA.

According to the association, advertising on TV accounted for 43% of the total media advertising market, advertising on the Internet was 19%, advertising on the radio was 12%, advertising in magazines was 10%, outdoor advertising was 9%, advertising in newspapers was 6%, and advertising in movie theaters was 1%

 

Compared to 2014, Internet advertising has risen by 38%, advertising in movie houses has grown by 31%, while advertising on TV has remained unchanged, and advertising in magazines and in the radio has dropped by 5%, outdoor advertising has declined by 6%, and advertising in newspapers has dropped by 23%.

 

"There are two significant trends in the media advertising market – advertising on the digital environment is rising considerably, and outflow of money to Internet resources registered abroad continues," said the association’s board chairwoman Baiba Liepina.
