The Collect.Net network of parcel terminals is to differ from its competitors by using automated parcel terminals called PackRobot which have been developed by the company and which have a 1.2-square meter screen where companies can advertise themselves, Cleveron said in a letter to the Tallinn city government.

Another major difference is that their network of parcel terminals can be used by anyone who wishes to do so. "We are not offering a transport service, only a place to hand over parcels," the company said.

"In addition, we are opening the market to all sorts of new solutions which we maybe cannot even foresee. Maybe a local shoemaker will find that transporting shoes that need repairing using our network is cheaper than paying high rent for renting a space in a shopping center," Cleveron said, adding that there are many such services that can make use of the company's network.

According to the company, customers would pay rent for each day that the parcel is in the terminal.

Collect.Net is planning to initially install 10 parcel terminals across Estonia –- five in Tallinn, two in Tartu, and one in Parnu, Rakvere and Viljandi each.

When asked by BNS on Monday about the size of the investment and the schedule of installing the terminals, CEO of Cleveron Arno Kutt did not want to comment.

Cleveron last September announced it had received an order for 15,000 automated parcel terminals called PackRobot from the U.S. company Bell & Howell worth hundreds of millions of euros.

In Estonia, Cleveron makes automated parcel terminals for Smartpost. In addition the company is active in the Nordic countries.
