Lithuania's advertising market expanded by 5.1% in 2015 from a year ago, with the strongest growth recorded in outdoor, cinema and TV advertising volumes, according to the latest survey released by TNS LT, cites LETA/BNS.

“The analysis of advertising data in individual media channels shows greater differences, but the general trend of growth in advertising volumes is very similar to changes recorded in 2014 and 2013. Advertising volumes rose by 5.3% and 3.8%, respectively, in those years,” Giedre Juroniene, head of advertising monitoring at the market and media research company, said in a press release on Wednesday.

“The comparison of advertising data for the past three years shows stable growth in TV and radio advertising time and in the volume of cinema advertising. Meanwhile, print advertising volumes followed a downward trajectory,” she said.

In 2015, advertising on television rose by 6.7% year-on-year to 1.715 million commercials aired, and radio advertising volumes were up by 2.9% to 8.005 million seconds.

Print advertising volumes declined by 6.9%, with advertising space in newspapers down by 9.8% to 10.33 million square centimeters and that in magazines down by 2.1% to 6.584 million square centimeters.

Spending on online banner advertising fell by 5.8%, the average daily outdoor static advertising space widened by 4.8% and advertising on outdoor video screens soared by 37%.

Cinema advertising volumes surged by 29.7% to 412,000 commercials screened.
