The essence of the high-tech business of Biosan Latvia is related to biosafety which is one of the aspects that were raised in the TV program about the terrible epidemic of Ebola virus. In this area Biosan is Russia's reputable and reliable partner. BC asked for comments from the Chairman of the Board of Biosan, doctor of biology, professor Vasily Bankovsky.

Using methodological protocols with the equipment shown in the video, including products of Biosan, scientists and researchers can not only design the strains that are the producers of biologically active antiviral drugs, but also use the equipment in the identification of carriers of dangerous viral and bacterial diseases.

The cooperation with the Central Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology is a long lasting relationship and we, together, co-develop equipment for the diagnosis of infectious diseases.

Microorganisms do not know anything and are not even aware about the current existing political boundaries. Moreover, artificial isolation of populations leads to potentially dangerous evolutionary changes in infection carriers (Let’s remember the plague, Spanish flu, AIDS). We are aware of this, and therefore cooperate in this direction with all the countries of the world. Russia is one of our key partners. We do this without any pomposity and self advertising - it's just our job, and as a microbiologist, I totally understand the importance of this area of science.

I am also proud that, 10 years ago, Biosan, together with Epidemiology Central Research Institute, has developed a highly sensitive fluorescent detector of bird flu, as well as a range of medical devices for the diagnosis of swine flu, and, today, in Russia 24 program you can observe another success - the use of Biosan equipment in development of technologies to fight Ebola virus.

Each such publication does not get ignored by Biosan workers because we live in the age of information and such telecasts are very important for our positive self-esteem of life’s meaning.
