Alcohol maker Altia Eesti boosts export by 27% in 2015

The Estonian alcoholic beverages maker Altia Eesti boosted export by 27% to 3.42 million liters and exported two thirds of output in 2015, informs LETA/BNS.

"The biggest part of Altia Eesti's export goes to Latvia and Finland and the other major export markets are Poland, Sweden and Denmark. New markets added in 2015 were the United States, Belgium, Canada, Lithuania, Lebanon, Hungary and the UK," CEO Kristel Mets said adding that the external market is becoming more and more important to the company.

 

The company invested last year 500,000 euros in new bottling and corking equipment which helps to increase its competitiveness on the growing export market. The machine was installed on the line used for making most of Altia's brands. Altia plans to continue investing in production equipment this year to ensure competitiveness on export markets.

 

A company of Altia Corporation of Finland, Altia Eesti is the second biggest producer of alcoholic beverages in Estonia. Production of alcoholic beverages accounts for 57% and import of alcoholic beverages for 43% of its business. The company employed 85 people at the end of 2015.
