Costa Rica poised to open its market for Zemaitijos Pienas

Print versionZemaitijos Pienas, a Lithuanian dairy company, will soon be given the green light to export its hard cheese Dziugas to Costa Rica, Lithuania’s chief veterinary officer has said, cites LETA/BNS.

“We’ve talked to Costa Rica’s officials about Dziugas. We’ve already obtained an export authorization but still need to agree on certificates. I think we’ll get them in three to four weeks,” Jonas Milius told BNS.
In April, the company got the go-ahead for the exports of its Dziugas cheese to Brazil, which, according to Milius, was the first ever case of opening the market for a specific product.
Dziugas is one of the main brands in Zemaitijos Pienas’ portfolio.
