In October, retail trade turnover in Latvia increased by 1.4%

Data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia (CSB) show that, compared to September, the total retail trade turnover in October 2015 rose by 1.4%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in food products grew by 1.0%, and turnover of non-food products – by 1.7%.

Compared to September, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in October increased by 3.1%. A year ago – in October 2014, compared to September, turnover grew by 1.9%.

Compared to October 2014, the total retail trade turnover in October 2015 increased by 5.7%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group accounted for 3.9%. In non-food commodity group there was a 6.7% increase, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel – 14.5%.

 

Total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 0.8% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In January – October of this year, as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, retail trade turnover in total has grown by 5.8%, according to calendar adjusted data. Retail trade in food products increased by 2.8%, retail trade of non-food products – by 7.8%.
