According to "American Express Meetings&Events 2016 Global Meetings Forecast", Riga ranks 9th in the Top 10 of the European cities best suited for business tourism along with such large and popular cities as London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Berlin.

"The fact that Riga has been included in the Top 10 is a great achievement and means Riga has been recognized as a safe and reliable location for organizing conferences and corporate events, said Aigars Smiltans, the Marketing and Communication Head of Meet Riga, the brand of the Riga Tourism Development Bureau (RTAB).

He underlined that American Express had sent the report to all its offices and customers in 96 world countries.

The RTAB, the Latvian Tourism Development Agency (TAVA) and 13 other Latvian tourism companies presented business tourism opportunities in Latvia to participants of "IBTM World" at the Latvian stand "Meet Riga".

"IBTM World" took place in Barcelona, Spain, on November 17-19. Over 15,000 professionals from 85 countries participated in the trade fair.
