Tallinna Kute invests EUR 16.9 mln in heat pipes

Estonian heating company Tallinna Kute, which belongs to the Utilitas energy group has finished the reconstruction of the Lasnamae main and heat pipes as well as most of the other reconstruction works planned for 2015 and the total cost of the reconstruction works this year will be nearly 16.9 million euros, informs LETA.

"By now the reconstruction of the 11-kilometer Lasnamae main which has been in the focus of network works for two years has finished," CEO of Tallinna Kute Priidu Nomm told BNS.

 

The total cost of the reconstruction for 2014 and 2015 is around 18.8 million euros. The works were carried out by AS Kute ja Ehitus.

 

According to Nomm two-thirds of the heat of Tallinn buildings and apartment buildings is transmitted through the Lasnamae main. He added that in the fall of 2016 a new cogeneration plant will be built next to the Tallinn power station and thereafter the amount will increase even more.

 

Business revenue of the Utilitas energy group last year decreased by 5.8% to 123.6 million euros and net profit by 37.2% to 9.8 million euros.
